Continuing on with our pursuit in learning about our future daughter's birth country, we decided to sponsor a little girl from Ethiopia through World Vision, named Senedene. Poor Senedene. She probably just wanted some normal sponsors who would write an occasional letter, and send stickers and hair clips. Instead she's going to get a bunch of crazies who are going to hound her about details of life in Ethiopia. I don't think it will be long before she tries to trade us in for nice sponsors. When Violet gets older, she can write the letters to Senedene, and they can talk smack about us. I'm sure we'll deserve it.
This week I had my adoption physical at my doctor's office, and I had to bring Pearl with me. It was a loooong appointment, but she was great! I had brought a bag of toys, books, and snacks to keep her quiet. However, while in the bathroom with me, she ripped her bow off of her head and threw it in the toilet. I immediately flushed it, causing her to howl like a wild animal. When we came out she started telling everyone, tearfully, that she "threw my brown bow in the potty". I had to pretend I had no idea what she was talking about. She made up for it when I had to put on the paper gown for the examination and she told me, "You look like Shirley Pimple (Shirley Temple), Mommy!". Such a creepy thing to say, but so sweet.
did you put the bow back on her head?
